Northern Cardinal

 Here is the first pic of the first visitor to my bird feeder with a camera. This is a Northern Cardinal or as us Okie's like to call them "Red Cardinal"


By judging from the picture and tapping into my vast knowledge of birdology.... Yeah I don't know what I'm talking about. However discussing the matter with Mr Wikipedia, this is an adult male of the species.The female one sports a brown coat. Now this Cardinal is susposed to be red.  This color:

I don't think that bird is really red. I think that it is sporting the color of its favorite team. You know the one that will kick the pig in Palace on the Prairie in around 35 days?

Anyway back to the bird. Here is the distrubution of  the Northern Cardinal:


It covers much of the eastern and central United States, eastern and central Mexico and parts of southeastern Canada. This is its year round distribution, I don't think that it migrates.
