Birds of Oklahoma

Besides enjoying my bonsai trees, I picked up from my mother a love for feeding the birds. I was able to get a bird feeder with a camera in it. So I put this bird feeder in April hoping to start ticking off bird species that have visited my backyard. So here it is in late July I finally got my first pic of a bird at my feeder, a male Northern Cardinal. Beautiful Piciture! Now to be fair I have several other feeders but this is the only one that has a camera in it. I let the other feeders go out of food so hopefully more birds will discover this feeder.

So here I will share the list of bird species that I can capture a picture of. When the picture was not taken within my quarter acre of the American Deam, I will note it. According to the Oklahoma Ornithological Society (OOS) there are 488 species of birds in Oklahoma. So here we go!

  1. 26 July 2025 Cardinalis cardinalis Northern Cardinal
  2. 05 August 2025 Passer domesticus House Sparrow
